Grouse Creek Shorthairs
Five years ago, my wife Judy and I started Grouse Creek Shorthairs with the idea that I wanted to train and breed German Shorthair Pointers. We run a small family owned full service kennel in Mount Horeb, Wisconsin and sell a small number of top quality pups each year to quality hunting homes. We take great pride in the fact that we are not trying to sell the most pups, but rather our goal is to sell some of the highest quality pups around! We are not a puppy mill, but rather people that enjoy the companionship that we get from our dogs. Our number one goal is to sell reasonably priced dogs to good hunting homes. Our dogs will not be sold to anyone that would like to use our dogs as show dogs. Our dogs are born to hunt but they will also make great family pets. We are members of NAVHDA (North American Versatile Hunting Dog Assoc.) and the NSTRA (National Shoot to Retrieve Association) hunting tests. Our dogs are titled in the AKC as well as both the NAVHDA and NSTRA Associations. Buddy has Prized in his NAVHDA NA test, finished in the money for many NSTRA field trials. Mabel has also Prized in her NAVHDA NA test after completing a "Perfect" test and has also placed in three NSTRA events. Testing not only shows how your dogs match up against a known standard but it also shows how the match up against other dogs from across the nation. Not all great dogs are tested or trialed, but this gives you an idea of what others think of the quality of the Grouse Creek dogs. Our dogs live in our home and are a part of our family. The enjoyment of owning a fine German Shorthair is something that should happen 12 months a year, not just during the hunting season. These dogs are extremely affectionate and will bond with your entire family, and win their way into your heart. Now that I have taken my German Shorthair Pointers to the top, I am ready to work with you and your dogs.
